Long-term Ethereum NFT collection Chimpers extends its footprint and works together with IP-Incubator 223 to produce physical collecting objects, starting with a plush keychain blind box collection with the cartoon-like chimpanse characters.
The brand, which has collected millions of followers on social media platforms, will sell its series 1 collectible exclusive via the online marketplace of 223, with plans to expand to the retail trade in the future.
“We have built a supporter of more than 1.8 million, but the real goal is to change fans to believers. That shift happens when people can keep a piece of chimpress in their hands,” founder Jacob Timperley van Chimpers told Decrypt.
He said that 223’s “experience and network will bring chimpresse to life in a whole new way and grow the chimpanzees, which invites a new audience to discover us and get in touch with us.”

Series 1 Plush Keychain -collection objects of the brand are sold via a blind box, or packaging that hides the contents in it, so that the buyer offers a surprise when opening. Once unveiled, the buyer will be able to continue with the chimpresse using the NFC technology of 223, which will unlock an NFT-proof-of-collectible, a digital map on Ethereum Layer-2 network base and more.
“For lifestyle -persona brands, Plush is the emotional center. It is a bit of fans as a gift, photographing and bringing them into their daily life. It is often the first product that is passed on, displayed or cherished, so it has an important meaning and is the key to start,” said 223 founder Cole Gernum told Decodeer.
In the future, however, the brand is planning to expand the line, but “every product remains loyal to the chimperse,” Timperley added.
Other NFT collections have been extended to physical collective objects in recent years, such as Pudgy Penguins. The Ethereum NFT collection created its own toy line called Pudgy Toys who eventually found his way to Walmart’s shopping shelves – and led to more than $ 10 million in toy sales in less than a year.
“Pudgy Penguins has been a pioneer in this space and proves what is possible when you combine a strong IP with smart distribution,” Timperley said. “Their success has opened doors for the entire room like no other.”
“That said, our brand is different, our story is different and the way we came here is different,” he continued. “There will never be a shortage of IP, but those who really break the noise are those who create emotional resonance and build a wide-access distribution network … We believe that chimpers are well positioned to be one of those striking success stories to prove that web3-born IP can break out in mainstream.”
Chimpers Pluche Keychains are sold at an affordable price, according to Timperley, and Chimpan -NFT holders a place in advance will be guaranteed. Users can pay via Fiat or Crypto to secure their plush keychain.
“This first online release is one of the many small but intentional movements that will stimulate the discovery and growth in the long term for chimpers,” Timperley said.
“223 and Chickers will give our fans unique experiences and opportunities. We don’t think small-this is the start of something much bigger,” said Gernum.
