Coffee giant Starbucks announced Friday that it is shutting down its Starbucks Odyssey beta platform, which provided NFT-based rewards minted on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon.

Starbucks will shut down the Odyssey platform and associated Discord server in the coming days, with no clear indication of a planned return.

“The Starbucks Odyssey Beta needs to end to prepare us for what comes next as we continue to develop the program,” reads an official FAQ.

“As the Starbucks Odyssey Beta program winds down, we’re excited for you to see what comes next and are grateful for your consistent engagement and feedback,” the FAQ also states. “We’re grateful to have had this opportunity to test these different ways to drive community and loyalty at Starbucks and we look forward to bringing these learnings to a broader audience.”

This story is current and will be updated with additional details.
