Sony’s Soneium debut scoring system to register the participation of us

Soneium, an Ethereum Layer 2 network developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, introduces a system that aims to transform the daily activity on chains into slightly closer to a digital identity.

The proof-of-contribution system is called Soneium score and follows user activity in the ecosystem and generally rewards consistent involvement, according to a press release shared with the Defiant.

The platform in essentially converts routine actions on chain’s such as exchanging tokens, deploying or lubricating NFTs-in points that contribute to a Gamified identity layer, the company claims.

Users can climb seasonal leaderboards and earn non-transferable SBT badges that permanently mark their contributions. In the meantime, developers get a ready-made way to find committed users without completely rebuilding complex integrations.

In a commentary for the Defiant, a spokesperson said that the current design of badges is ‘standard reputation’.

“SBTs mark your presence and activity in important events or campaigns. We see them as identity principles that other builders can connect, whether it concerns access, curation or rewards. But each extra utility will come from ecosystem integrations over time, not from the SBTs themselves,” said the spokesperson.

Fighting bots

To get a better understanding of participation, the Soneium score is investigating various important factors. It follows daily activities stripes, liquidity contributions in protocols, NFT holdings and bonus points to participate in recommended projects.

So far, many blockchain platforms have not really offered continuity for users, the company argues. Soneium wants to tackle this by building a uniform identity on the chain and offering developers a more reliable pool of involved participants.

To prevent washing and bone activities, all participants must register through the official scoresite. “Although it is difficult to eliminate all forms of ‘fake’ activity, the structure is designed to minimize their influence and to reward persistent, authentic use,” the spokesperson added.

Cross-chain extension plans

Season 1, the first score period for Soneium score, starts with a line -up of ecosystem partners. During this period, users can earn reputation points by participating in activities in Defi, Gaming and Digital Collecting objects.

Everyone who reaches the 80-point threshold within season receives an SBT insignia that is linked to their wallet, due and payable via OpenSea.

In the launch, Soneium Score will only concentrate on activities in the Soneium ecosystem, although the spokesperson noted that the team “is interested in exploring future extensions that make more reputation on the cross-chain possible, especially if the demand for the community is for.”

Soneium TVL

The rollout follows on the Mainnet debut of Soneium in January, which attracted more than 14 million portfolios during testing and early criticism led to limiting certain tokens. From the moment of the press, the network has locked $ 126.5 million in total value (TVL), a decrease of around 38% compared to his all time at the end of May, according to Defillama.
