Nike Virtual Studios, the digital division of the sportswear giant, and video game developer EA Sports are teaming up to bring digital assets from the Nike .SWOOSH platform to EA Sports’ gaming ecosystem. Details on the collaboration are limited, but Nike said in a press release that the collaboration will allow .SWOOSH members and EA Sports fans to “express their personal style through play.”
EA Sports is a division of Electronic Arts that has released games like FIFA, Madden NFL and more. Last week, Nike’s .SWOOSH platform released its first non-fungible token (NFT) sneaker collection, grossing more than $1 million in sales. Sales of “virtual items” began on May 15.
At the time of writing, according to Polygonscan, 97,627 boxes of Our Force 1 have been sold out of a total inventory of 106,453. According to Ron FARISGeneral Manager of Nike Virtual Studios, this partnership will deliver some incredible new experiences for the .SWOOSH community and EA SPORTS’ massive fanbase.
