Kresus, a leading crypto wallet platform, recently partnered with Christie’s. According to Kresus, the partnership aims to revolutionize the way collectors manage and prove their art collections. The platform will distribute blockchain-based title certificates for 130 auction lots included in Christie’s auction.

Kresus’ new partnership with Christie’s provides an immutable and secure ownership record

The auction “An Eye Towards the Real: Photographs from the Collection of Ambassador Trevor Traina” will take place on October 2i.e. Kresus noted that the location of the auction will be Christie’s Rockefeller Center. In a groundbreaking partnership, Kresus aims to obtain digital certifications for nearly 132 lots at a 1:1 ratio. This provides an immutable and secure record of ownership on the Blockchain Base operating under Coinbase.

Thanks to the respective integration, collectors have unparalleled access to digital ownership certificates via the Kresus wallet. It provides a modern method to manage and validate physical art. Kresus’ founder Trevor Traina also commented on this initiative. According to him, this collaboration highlights the potential of the technology for collectors. He added that the launch of this initiative will set an exclusive standard regarding the provenance of art in the digital age.

The partnership focuses on improving the collector experience with Kresus providing certificates of ownership

In addition, Nicole Sales Giles, VP Director of Digital Art Sale, stated that Christie’s has always sought innovative ways to support and enhance the collector experience. The partnership reportedly offers the aforementioned certifications as a regular evolution of the company’s commitment to transparency and authenticity in the art world. The official added that this pilot project works as an exciting step forward for the integration of technology and art. Furthermore, this project plays a crucial role in expanding the global adoption of blockchain technology.

The auction will reportedly take into account antithetical and post-war works by famous artists such as Diane Arbus, Cindy Sherman, Robert Frank and William Eggleston. Ambassador Traina’s collection symbolizes important mid-century themes such as the prominence of female photographers and the evolution of color photography. In May of this year, Christie’s witnessed a record in the case of the “Identical Twins, (Cathleen and Colleen), Roselle, New Jersey, 1966.”
