Goblintown launches the NFTs driving license prior to the release of ‘Real Hard Ride Game’

Truth Arts – formerly known as Truth Labs, the team behind the 2022 Goblintown Ethereum NFT collection – has released NFT ‘Licensions’ inspired by driving licenses.

To be eligible to mint a gnome license, aspiring drivers had to wait for an apparently endless time without end in sight in a DMV. In this case it was waiting for the Goblintown DMV, which was a webpage with a DMV Simulator. You took a number, waited, waited more and finally submitted your e -mail address to the team. (You must also make a Dyli account with the same e -mail address to claim your license.)

When I met the DMV simulator shortly after he was launched on April 1, I didn’t know what the endgame was, but I thought it would probably end in an exclusive reward. I clicked on it to view it.

I took a song, saw the depressing knowledge of a long waiting time and what extreme High numbers (such as 99,999), and gave it up after about 30 seconds.

I had work to do, okay?

Truth CEO and co -founder Alexander Taub said in a post that waiting times were somewhere up to five hours per customer.

The Goblintown DMV is now closed. If you don’t get the chance to wait inactive hours, the NFTs can be purchased at secondary market places.

The “license” NFTs can be claimed until this Friday, April 11, according to an X post. They spread on the abstract blockchain. There are six possible character designs: “Pomplescroob”, “Lord Buttbat”, “Jug”, “Gromblar”, “Urki” and “Gobbie.”

When asked why the Goblintown team chose abstract for its newest NFTs, Taub Blockworks said via E -mail: “We are big fans and friends of Luca, Pudgy Penguins and the abstract team. The licenses were primarily something that we wanted to be able to exchanged physically,” “:”

The NFTs can be permanently “burned” or removed from the blockchain, in exchange for real physical versions of the licenses.

The licenses are thematically connected to the upcoming Goblintown Racing Game, Goblintown: Really difficult driving game, announced in February.

However, it is not technically a crypto game. The game does not require NFTs to play, but it is also not free to play (exact prices are TBD).

“This game is very deliberately a non-web3 game. The first reason is that you cannot have anything crypto or token-related and a good reputation on Steam, where we will first distribute the game. This is the number one marketplace for Indie games, so that made the decision for us,” Taub explained.

“The second reason is that we wanted to make a game that is fun and fun and something that people want to play, not because they may be able to earn money or speculate about it. We are building an entertainment and technology company, and creating entertaining games is something we have to deliver out of speculative digital assets. So the Game IS has our original collection, but our original collection, but our original, OOSTOORSPRECTION, but our original collection, but our original. A character IP brand, “The CEO has continued.

On April 20, Goblintown is organizing an IRL event in New York City, where guests can try to beat the game for $ 10,000 cash.

The game will also be offered next month in Pax East in Boston and at Dreamhack in Dallas at the end of next month. At all these events, people with NFT licenses can cut the line to play the game.

“We think you’ve been waiting for at least an hour on the digital DMV (up to 5 hours!), So we can let you skip the line. In the future we can come up with more fun things, but binding to the actual in-game is not something that we are planning to do,” Taub told Blockworks.

As the title of really difficult driving game suggests, it is meant to play very difficult to play.

“This is not just about skill – it’s about nerves, instinct and perhaps a little bit of chaos. Goblintown has always thrive on unpredictability, and this challenge is no exception,” Taub said in a press release.

Goblintown: Really difficult ride game has echoes from the Dokey -Dash of Yuga Labs, which was a difficult riding game with obstacles released for a limited time released in January 2023.

The original Dokey Dash was also for dedens and competitive gamers, but it required a “sewer pass” NFT to gain access to the game. The winning Dokey Dash Key was eventually sold for $ 1.6 million in February 2023. In September 2024, Yuga Labs released a free play, newer version of the game.

The really difficult driving competition from Goblintown will be launched before the end of this month, Taub confirmed to Blockworks.
