Jamie Coutts, chief crypto analyst at Real Vision, says Bitcoin (BTC) could see an increase of more than 155% from current levels during this market cycle.
In an appearance on Raoul Pal’s The Journey Man YouTube channel, Coutts say that Bitcoin could explode into six-figure territory as the global money supply increases.
“My base case is that if we just look at global M2 (money supply) and go back to August, where the Bitcoin cycle peaks, that infers a price of around $100,000 for Bitcoin. I place it as a potential outcome, but one with a very low probability. My proportionality forecast is $170,000.”
The crypto analyst goes on to say that there are “more optimistic scenarios” in which Bitcoin could skyrocket to $234,000 and even higher.
“The question is what probability you assign to each of those potential outcomes to arrive at some kind of well-founded, probability-weighted projection. And as I said, the $100,000 global M2 regression line looks about like my base case or worst case scenario. And all I’ve done is I’ve looked at these other possible outcomes and assigned them a probability.
I don’t think Bitcoin will go parabolic to $500,000 this cycle. I see $500,000 in the future, not this cycle. So the chance is very small. And the outcome is exactly this probability-weighted market forecast of 189,000 for Bitcoin in August next year, which will give it a market cap of about $3.75 trillion.”
According to Coutts, Bitcoin has a 15% chance of reaching $100,000 around mid-August 2025. Over the same period, Bitcoin has a 60% chance of reaching $170,335, a 20% chance of skyrocketing to $234,000, and a 5% chance of reaching $170,335. Reach $500,000.
Bitcoin is trading at $66,633 at the time of writing.
