Two men in Florida are confronted with the possibility of several decades in prison after they reportedly have mastered a fraudulent plan to steal more than $ 100 million from a non -profit organization that is set up for people with special needs and disabilities.

The US Department of Justice says that Leo Joseph Govoni, 67, from Clearwater, Florida, the Center for Special Needs Trust Administration (CSNT) founded around the year 2000, and CSNT used John Leo Witeck, 60, from Tampa, Florida, as an accountant.

The non -profit managed court prices, settlements and other payments for people with disabilities and special needs.

By 2024, CSNT succeeded in more than 2,100 special needs trusts with around $ 200 million, with beneficiaries in almost every state, according to the indictment.

However, the DOJ claims that Govoni, Witeck and their non-further fellow co-samplers of the CSNT funds from the CSNT client have been pierced and hid their embezzlement through complex financial transactions. They reportedly sent fraudulent account statements with false balances to their disabled customers.

Govoni is said to have used the darkened cash to buy real estate, to finance a brewery and pay personal debts. According to the DOJ, he also liked to hold private jet.

Both men were accused of conspiracy to commit wire and post fraud, wire fraud, post fraud and money laundering, and Govoni was also affected with extra costs of bank fraud, illegal monetary transactions and false bankruptcy statements.
