This week, several notable projects are planned to release additional tokens into circulation, adding to the billions of dollars in assets expected to hit the market.
The August token unlocks the tsunami
According to recent data on Token Unlock, around 14 projects are planned to put some tokens into circulation.
The scope of these releases varies, with some projects primed for more substantial unlocks than others.
Sandbox [SAND]
According to recent dataThe sandbox [SAND] will see one of the largest token unlocks of the week, with a planned release of 205.59 million SAND.
These tokens have a press time market value of approximately $53.28 million. This access represented 9% of the circulating supply, which is a significant portion.
The allocation of the unlocked tokens will be distributed among the company reserve, team and advisors, with almost half going to the company reserve.
At the time of writing, SAND was trading around $0.25, reflecting a slight increase of over 1%.
Arbitration [ARB]
Arbitration [ARB] is also scheduled for one of the biggest unlocks of the week, releasing 96 million ARB, representing 2.87% of the circulating supply.
The value of the upcoming unlock is approximately $54 million. These tokens are split between the team and investors, with the team receiving more than half of the unlock.
At the time of writing, ARB was trading around $0.5, showing a slight upside of over 2%.
ApeCoin [APE]
ApeCoin [APE] will unlock approximately 15.60 million APE this week, worth $9.24 million. These tokens accounted for 2.31% of Apecoin’s circulating supply.
The unlocked tokens will go to the Treasury, Yuga Labs, and the Yuga Labs founders. At the time of writing, APE was trading around $0.59, reflecting an increase of over 2%.
Other tokens are unlocked
According to data from CryptoRankThere are significant token unlocks planned for both Uniswap this week [UNI] and World Currency [WLD].
For Uniswap, approximately 8.3 million UNI tokens, worth $49.61 million, will be released. These tokens represented 0.83% of Uniswap’s circulating supply.
In the case of Worldcoin, approximately 5.2 million WLD tokens, worth $8.15 million, will be unlocked, accounting for 0.05% of the total circulating supply.
