A 30% increase in investor interest. That’s part of what Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg is forecasting for XRP in December, on top of a price he thinks could double from current levels.
The road to the end of the year
McClurg, who leads one of the first firms to apply for the spot XRP an exchange-traded fund in the US, has laid out a three-phase path that the market is expected to follow through the rest of 2026.
He believes the short term will be difficult. Summer is expected to put pressure on both stocks and crypto in general, and the run-up to midterm elections will draw attention and money away from the markets.
But McClurg’s prospects change sharply once election season ends. He said post-midterm conditions are likely to accelerate ETF inflows, driven in part by the possible passage of the CLARITY Act and growing activity around tokenization of assets in the real world.
Institutional investors, he said, have been waiting for this kind of regulatory clarity before committing larger amounts.
ETF inflows are already increasing
The timing of his comments follows a strong week for XRP ETFs. Net inflows reached $60 million last week, the best single-week performance so far in 2026, bringing the total cumulative figure to $1.39 billion. McClurg said he expects that number to grow another 30% by the end of the year.
XRP was trading around $1.40 at the time the comments were made. Doubling that price in December would push the token above $2.80. Whether or not the prediction is correct, the inflow data indicates real and growing institutional interest in XRP exposure through regulated fund products.
A specific goal with a specific timeline
McClurg did not hedge his vision with vague language. He put a number on it and added a deadline. That kind of precision from a fund executive with direct skin in the XRP market tends to turn heads, and his comments are already circulating widely.
The broader bet he’s making rests on a combination of regulatory progress, post-election capital rotation and continued ETF adoption. All three should appear more or less on track to achieve his year-end goal.
Summer, by his own admission, will test that thesis before the second half of the year has a chance to prove it correct.
