World Mobile has officially launched its blockchain infrastructure on Base, marking a milestone in its quest to build a global decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN). This launch connects World Mobile’s Layer 3 blockchain, World Mobile Chain (WMC), with Base’s Ethereum-based Layer 2 blockchain, accelerating the expansion of its web3 wireless ecosystem.

Improving global connectivity with Base
By integrating with Base, World Mobile brings its 100,000 daily active users on-chain, simplifying access to decentralized connectivity. This strategic partnership will improve user onboarding by incorporating the Coinbase Smart Wallet into the World Mobile app. Additionally, it will create a seamless experience for new users, expanding the company’s already growing network infrastructure.
The integration of World Mobile with Base is intended to set up extensive DePIN networks worldwide. This expansion follows achievements including the launch of commercial services on three continents and the deployment of aerostat technology in Mozambique in partnership with Vodacom and the GSMA.
Additionally, World Mobile recently sold out its first batch of decentralized wireless network nodes (AirNodes) in less than 36 hours, further growing its user base. The success of these milestones reinforces the company’s leadership in decentralized connectivity solutions.
