The blockchain mentality of Egypt changes

Pravica CEO Mohamed Abdou emphasizes the evolving blockchain posture of Egypt and praised a shift from skepticism into curiosity.

Participants at a high level discuss practical usage cases

The recent forum of closed door about blockchain utility in Egypt marks a potential turning point in policy and underlines according to Mohamed Abdou, founder and CEO of Pravica. Abdou noted that the shift of Egypt from a limited focus on blockchain’s risks to “an advanced curiosity” about his broader applications Validates the “Education First” strategy that is embraced by market leaders.

Abdou’s comments came shortly after he and Tony Amer, CEO of Emurgo Labs, participated in a high-level meeting attended by representatives of the academic, banking and government sectors of Egypt. Other remarkable attendees were Kostas Kryptos Chalkias, co-founder of Mysten Labs and Gregorios Siourounis, co-founder and CEO of Money.com.

The forum was aimed at the practical use of blockchain, in particular in off-chain and cross-border payments, as well as documentation sharing within government systems. The meeting is a milestone for the Egypt -Web3 ecosystem, which has long been struggling with the misconception that Blockchain is exclusively connected to cryptocurrencies.

Navigate through a complex regulation environment

Although Egypt currently misses formal cryptocurrency instructions, the Central Bank has banned their issue, trade and promotion. Nevertheless, blockchain-based solutions are allowed in sectors such as trade, logistics and carbon markets. To navigate in this complex regulation environment, Web3 lawyers deliberately redirected the attention “from speculative assets to tangible use.”

To demonstrate this, Abdou told Bitcoin.com News that his team is working on co-development of pilot programs that insist on the urgent local challenges.

“For example, we can propose a pilot to put land registers in the chain to reduce disputes, or one to follow high-quality goods from origin to port. When a supervisor can see the results of a blockchain solution, touch and measure that reduces fraud, reduces or improves the dialogue fundamental,” he explains.

In addition to pilot projects, Pravica invests in local capacity building through partnerships with universities, incubation hubs and government agencies. By organizing workshops, sponsoring hackathons and training developers, the company strengthens its dedication to the long -term growth of Egypt. This hands-on approach to the development of workforce has helped Pravica as a trusted strategic partner for supervisors.
