American online trading platform Robin Hood has announced an exclusive non-fungible token (NFT) giveaway.

Robinhood wallet users can now participate in the new competition of Remarkable.arta new visual arts-focused platform that bridges digital and physical art.

Specifically, they can acquire exclusive digital sketches from prominent American artist Hunt Slonem.

The campaign will consist of a total of four NFT giveaways taking place once every two weeks. Each of these will feature different works of art by Slonem.

According to the press release shared with Crypto newsthe NFTs can be accessed via the Web3 tab in the Robinhood Wallet app on iOS.

They are minted on Notable and delivered directly to users’ wallets.

Additionally, Notable will cover the network costs associated with minting coins up to the first 10,000 participants in the giveaway. After that, “giveaway participants will be responsible for all network fees associated with coin minting,” according to the announcement.

Robinhood launches physical prints for limited NFTs

The giveaway consists of four NFT coins on February 27, March 12, March 26 and April 9.

Also, US participants who collect all four pieces can purchase a physical print of one of those four sketches.

Notably, physical prints will be limited to 400 prints total: 100 prints of each NFT. Prints will be available April 23 through May 6 or until sold out.

Meanwhile, NFTs cost $1,500 each.

Notable CEO Zain Talyarkhan noted that:

“Notable seeks to break the relatively high barriers to entry in the field of fine art collecting.”

That’s why the platform collaborates with renowned visual artists to offer unique digital artworks, supplemented with 1-on-1 museum-quality prints “sold at accessible prices.”

According to Johann Kerbrat, Crypto General Manager at Robinhood, the company sees an opportunity to increase access to Web3. Robinhood Wallet, he added, “removes barriers and makes it easier for people to access web3 and explore new projects or initiatives that they might not otherwise have.”

Fresh context

Slonem is a famous colorist known for his neo-expressionist style. The “striking fauvist color palette [is] often used to highlight his lifelong fascination with animals and exotic locations,” the announcement said.

“Art is a way to inspect our lives and think beyond our ordinary experiences,” Slonem said. Commenting on the dive into the world of NFTs, he explained that:

“With my work I strive to capture not only the vibrancy of nature, but also the essence that animates it. The union between art and life – and now technology – extends my practice beyond the brush. I look forward to showing my work in a fresh context and captivating new audiences in a fun and lively way.”

Furthermore, Slonem’s physical works of art individually cost at least tens of thousands of dollars. His pieces have been featured in more than 350 international exhibitions in prestigious galleries and cultural institutions. These include the Metropolitan Art Museumthe Solomon R. Guggenheim Museumand the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, USA.

Meanwhile, Robinhood reported earlier in February that transaction-based revenue rose 8% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

The increased profit-taking was “primarily driven by cryptocurrency revenues of $43 million, up 10%,” it added.
