The performance of the developer community often plays a crucial role in measuring the pulse of the blockchain ecosystem. Especially in the past month, Ethereum, $BNB Chain and Polygon have held the leading positions based on developer activity.

As Santiment’s data suggests, the other notable names are Arbitrum, Solana, Cosmos, Optimism, Avalanche, Gnosis, and Harmony. Nevertheless, developer activity has decreased significantly over the past thirty days when it comes to the individual performance of these platforms.

Ethereum surpasses blockchains in monthly developer activity with 38.4 thousand events and 904 contributors

Ethereum remains the top player in the blockchain sector when it comes to developer activity. In this regard, the blockchain network recorded a total of 38.4k developer activity events during the month. This figure indicates a decline of 17.35%. In addition, the number of event contributors also decreased by 11.89% to 904.

Then, $BNB Chain, the second top blockchain, has witnessed 15.9k events, representing a decline of 29.32%. Similarly, a drop of 14.64% has brought the number of contributors to 478.

Subsequently, Polygon has emerged as the third notable blockchain ecosystem in terms of developer activity, with 13.5K events. However, this figure shows a drop of 26.34%, alongside a 13.32% drop in the number of contributors to 358. Additionally, Arbitrum comes next, accounting for 10.5K developer activity and 295 contributors. These figures indicate a decline of 27.5% and 8.1% during the month.

Developer activity is slowing down in medium-sized Blockchain networks

According to Santiment data, Solana, with 10.4k events and 298 contributors, shows a decline of 25.75% and 5.1%. In the same vein, the 6th top blockchain by developer activity, Cosmos, saw a decline of 32.04% and 12.9%, reaching 10.2K events and 243 contributors.

Apart from that, Optimism’s 10.1k developer activity events and 284 contributors are responsible for a decline of 28.87% and 8.97% over the month. Furthermore, despite becoming the 8th best blockchain in line with developer activity, Avalanche has witnessed a notable performance drop. The 9.4k events and 246 contributors indicate a decline of 26.14% and 14.88%.

Apart from that, Gnosis’s 8.9k events and 203 contributors show a drop of 23.97% and 9.78%. Rounding out the list, the Harmony blockchain has recorded 8.6k events and 217 contributors, representing a decline of 21.87% and 13.2%.
