  • Dantewada digitizes 700,000 land records on Avalanche for immediate, sabotage-proof access.
  • Title search times that have been cut from days to seconds; The personnel costs reduced by 40% in phase one.
  • Blockchain integration increases access for marginalized groups and makes fast land services possible.

The Dantewada district in the state of Chhattisgarh in India has digitized its entire land record system with the help of blockchain infrastructure. The project, completed with the technical support of Zopple Labs and deployed on Avalanche’s Evergreen Subnet, secures more than 700,000 Legacy documents. The move is intended to have land records sabbow, transparent and immediately verifiable, which eliminates delays that have led to inefficiencies and disputes historically.

Previously, all land records in Dantewada existed on paper and they were verified manually. The process included a maximum of 15 steps and often lasted a few weeks. This delayed land transactions and contributed to the distribution of forged property documents through informal markets.

Can a remote Indian district show the world how ownership rights should work in 2025?

Under the new system, every mutation, property certificate and research card has been held and recorded on Avalanche’s Toolsed Layer 1 blockchain. Each land record is now accessible via a unique QR code. Citizens and civil servants can confirm the authenticity of a document in less than 30 seconds, without using digital portfolios or navigating complex systems.

The first phase of the rollout includes digitizing around 50,000 suddenly. According to district officials, titles search times have fallen from three days to less than a minute, and the personnel costs for the Land Records Office have already fallen by 40%.

Administrative leadership and implementation

The blockchain transition was initiated during the term of office of Mr Jayant NaHhata, IAS, who previously served as a sub-division magistrate of Dantewada. NaHhata, now Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Panchayat, directed the planning and implementation of the system in addition to the current district collector, Mr. Mayank Chaturvedi, IAS.

According to Chaturvedi, the step to embrace digitization and blockchain technology has made land verification a simple process and assisted to breathe new life into the much-needed trust of the public. Due to the rapid availability of land services within one day, there has been a noticeable improvement in service -efficiency, availability and accessibility of documents from the district administration.

Make Bilden possible for citizens

An important goal of the initiative was to offer fair access to land data, especially for citizens from tribal and marginalized communities. The new platform simplifies the collection of records for persons confronted with bureaucratic obstacles in obtaining legal documentation.

The application, formed by Zopple Labs with the help of its LegitDoc platform, has been adapted to rely on the local officials and the general public. It is based on earlier versions of LegitDoc used for caste certificates, academic transcripts and identity documents in other parts of India.

The Dantewada initiative is in accordance with the National Blockchain strategy of India and is manufactured to be used as a blueprint for adoption in other districts in Chhattisgarh. In anticipation, the project will collaborate with financial institutions to make land -based loan services available.

An important feature is the ability of the system to produce copies of digital birth and wedding certificates. More than 700,000 people have already benefited from the initiative, and the aim is to reduce legal costs, to reduce the number of land problems and to help the economy by making government procedures more transparent.
