A British newspaper says it has launched an investigation after it published an article that appeared to promote a suspicious NFT project that claimed to support the country’s National Health Service (NHS).
On Wednesday, the Northamptonshire Telegraph published an article promoting the ‘Nurse Coin Token and NFT’ through the Your World contribution system, which allows anyone to publish stories on the newspaper’s website.
The article’s author, Sylvester Sean Masango, describes himself as a “crypto wizard” who helps “bolster the well-being of NHS heroes and their families” with his NFTs.
According to Masango, purchasing one NFT costs $334 and the project will do just that donate half of the transaction costs to the NHS to help finance childcare and medical costs and develop “much-needed care homes and hospices.” It also offers token holders discounts on various goods and services, but does not specify which ones.

The article also contains a lot of crypto jargon and talks about ‘a deflationary model’, which creates a $1 million liquidity pooland offering people who donate to the Fundraiser page “4,000 Nurse Coin Tokens via airdrop when the coin is minted and released into circulation.”
The Northamptonshire Telegraph told Protos: “The article has been published in good faith by our Your World team, but in response to the issues you have raised, the article will be removed from our website while we investigate.”

The newspaper claims to reach 160,000 readers every month. Despite this, the NHS theme project and the 20,000 listed NFTs have failed to attract buyers since the article was published.
