Bitcoin Ordinals Mint for Quantum Cats Postponed Again: What’s Going On?

Bitcoin-loving NFT collectors will have to wait a little longer to mint a Quantum Cats, organizers said in a tweet Wednesday evening.

The highly anticipated collection from Bitcoin Ordinals startup Taproot Wizards was initially set to release on January 30, but technical issues led to the event being postponed until February 1.

Today, Taproot Wizards says the “unique coin experience” isn’t quite ready yet.

“We tried to build a custom, unique coin experience that solves problems like fee/gas wars, mempool sniping, etc., and gives everyone a guaranteed coin right away,” said Udi Wertheimer, CEO of Taproot Wizards. “It was new and innovative, but obviously it didn’t work as well as we expected.

“We are postponing the launch to Thursday to ensure we can fix it and test it even more thoroughly,” he concluded. “It’s going to be purrrrrfect!”

Problems with the Quantum Cats Mint website caused the site to crash on the first attempt on Monday. The problems with the website came after a thousand Quantum Cats inscriptions were successfully minted, Wertheimer said. However, technical problems persisted, leading to the February 1 rescheduling.

“We all underestimated the demand from the Quantum Cats community, and on Monday the coin website simply wasn’t performing as well as it should,” they said. “Ultimately, that is our responsibility, and we should have done a better job of getting this right the first time.”

While most responses were positive, a few wondered how a well-funded project could fail.

How can you not anticipate the situation with all the focus on the project and the money you’ve raised?

A spokesperson for Taproot Wizards declined to comment further on the matter.

Quantum Cats is a collection of 3,333 images inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain. The project cost more than $66,000 to create, according to Taproot Wizards. The Quantum Cats coin was created in collaboration with OrdinalHub/Luxor, which is known for creating coin experiences, including for Yuga Labs and DeGods.

Taproot Wizards said it has been working around the clock with Luxor to resolve the issues that arose on Monday.

“Our number one priority is safety and fairness for our community, so we decided to delay the coin again to test this as thoroughly as possible and give you all the experience you deserve,” Taproot Wizards said.

Taproot Wizards claims to have found and fixed the issues that caused the initial delay and now says that the Quantum Cats coin would restart on February 5 due to insufficient time for extensive testing to ensure there were no additional bugs in time before the problems would appear on the market. February 1 coin day.

“I know this is disappointing, but hey, we’ve all been waiting a year for the first Taproot Wizards release,” he wrote. “If it only takes a few more days to give you the experience you deserve, then I think it’s worth it!”
