A Base-backed generative art project called Artnames turns a user’s name into a unique piece of NFT art. Each piece is created in collaboration with renowned artists from the digital art space.

The Artnames project was founded by the artist Arrotu. According to Arrotu’s blog post, the project is a combination of personalized art with blockchain technology. Users can use Artnames to craft their names into unique digital art “based on the letters and essence of an individual’s name.”

To receive their own personalized NFT, the user simply needs to connect their wallet and enter their real name or blockchain name. The project then generates a unique NFT that is stored in the blockchain. Artnames claims that it can generate approximately 18 million possible art combinations.

The project reportedly launched on November 14 and will be available until November 21.

Art names are coming, but what are art names?

It is a multi-layered art project:

* with collaboration of 6 artists
* with 200+ layers
* with 18 million art combinations
* with art font based on user input
* Go multichain
* that can turn your #basenames, #ens into art (and more to come… pic.twitter.com/7NkdRflP1H

Artnames consists of six digital artists contributing to the many possible combinations of generative NFTs that users can claim. The list of digital artist collaboration partners includes ViHa, Thompsonart.eth, Yepstt, Anemale.eth, Dragic and Eduxdux.

Arratu stated in his blog post that Artnames have the potential to contribute to the growing NFT economy by opening doors for individuals looking to sell or trade their personalized NFTs on the market.

“Artnames is a fusion of creativity and technology, giving users a way to express their individuality in the digital world while becoming part of the growing NFT movement,”

The scope of Artnames’ generative NFT minting will occur in three separate phases depending on an individual’s name format. In the first phase, Artnames will be able to transform a regular text name entry, a Basename, an ENS and TON dns into an Artname NFT by mining it via the Base or Tron network.

In the second phase, Artnames will be able to facilitate users who want to convert their Degen, TEZ or Solana names into NFT artworks. In the third phase, Artnames plans to generate NFT artworks based on the names Polkadot, Moonbeam and Bitcoin.
