Solv Encourages FROST Threshold Signatures for Bitcoin Mainnet Execution

Solv Protocol, the largest on-chain Bitcoin asset manager overseeing over $1 billion in assets, is pleased to announce a major architecture upgrade for SolvBTC, cementing Bitcoin’s status.$BTC) mainnet execution layer to FROST. FROST is a threshold signature system developed by the Zcash community that enables multisignature security at an institutional level, independent of the Bitcoin network itself.

The main purpose of this upgrade is to ensure the security and governance of Bitcoin without any changes to the network. For seamless and successful operation, this upgrade brings SolvBTC’s Bitcoin execution model from Solv’s Staking Abstraction Layer (SAL), launched to standardize Bitcoin staking in a FROST Network-powered custody as a stronger operational witness for SolvBTC scaling.

Solv Protocol redefines Bitcoin ($BTC) Control with FROST technology

According to FROST’s data, it is considered famous for its security and efficiency because it is published on the ePrint public cryptography network. Solv’s upgrade marks an important step in bringing this model into production on Bitcoin infrastructure. Together with FROST, SolvBTC introduces a Vault Pool, Indexer, Auditors and managed smart contract controls to support $BTC issuance and reimbursement with greater throughput and with great supervision.

Ryan Chow, CEO and co-founder of Solv Protocol, said: “Institutions are evaluating operational risk and change control risk. FROST improves privacy in execution, but what really matters for institutions is governance that is analogous to traditional financial systems. This includes separation of duties, policy-based approvals, audit trails and time-delayed upgrades. That’s what a risk committee prefers.”

Securing Bitcoin ($BTC) Security through FROST2 innovation

Solv’s shift to a FROST-based signing network strengthens this foundation by distributing approval among several independent parties, minimizing single-point relief and preserving Bitcoin as a standard.$BTC) signatures in the chain. On the other hand, Will Wang, CTO and co-founder of Solv Protocol, also expressed his opinion on this move. He said: “For five years, Solv always had a strong focus on cryptographic innovation.”

“Our recent research improves the FROST2 algorithm and increases its security level to TS-SUF-4, the highest security rating. We expect this advancement to significantly accelerate the adoption of FROST2 in the Bitcoin ecosystem, helping the industry build more efficient and secure multi-signature networks.”

SolvBTC becomes easier for institutional venues and DeFi protocols to integrate, contributing to cleaner composition and more reliable coin and exchange flows like Bitcoin ($BTC) financing continues to mature. In short, SolvBTC lays a new foundation for Bitcoin execution that can be secured and monitored at scale.
