Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) shorts have been liquidated as the crypto king soars above $37,000.
According to new facts from blockchain tracking platform Coinglass, the top crypto asset by market cap liquidated just over $131 million worth of short contracts in the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin is trading at $36,460 at the time of writing, up 2.9% over the past 24 hours, but down nearly 3.5% from the seven-day high of $37,935 on the morning of November 9.
Coinglass further reveals that in the same time frame, Ethereum, the second largest crypto asset by market cap, has seen $48 million worth of short contracts liquidated, while smart contract platform Solana has seen $9.56 million.
Ethereum is trading at $2,028 at the time of writing, up 7.4% on the day, while Solana is trading at $46.27, up 8.4% in the same time frame.
The total liquidation figures for BTC, ETH, and SOL over the past day are $170.5 million, $66.5 million, and $17.7 million, respectively.
Other notable crypto assets on Coinglass’ radar that saw significant liquidations include decentralized blockchain oracle Chainlink (LINK), which saw $6.25 million in short liquidations and $9.9 million in total, and popular memecoin Dogecoin (DOGE), with a dog theme, which saw $1.8 million in revenue. short contracts were wiped out and $7.95 million in total liquidations.
LINK is trading at $14.28 at the time of writing, while DOGE is trading at $0.071.
