Ladies of BAYC Launch ‘NOT A+1’ Phygital Jewelry Collection

The ladies of BAYC have created their first phygital jewelry collection! The synergy of blockchain technology, sustainable practices and contemporary design takes center stage as the Ladies of Bored Ape Yacht Club joins forces with renowned jewelery brand KAVERAS. The collaboration marks the launch of their first phygital jewelery collection – ‘NOT A+1’. Further, this was made possible under the Bored Apes Franchise Licensing ‘Made For Apes’ initiative. The collaboration intertwines luxury with authenticity, with each carefully crafted piece licensed and linked to an IP registry.

TL;DR:

  • Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has teamed up with KAVERAS for a unique phygital jewelery collection called ‘NOT A+1’.
  • Each custom piece uses NFTs for authenticity, reducing waste through made-to-order designs.
  • The collection features enamel and gold pendants, hidden logos, AR filters, and a philanthropic aspect in support of “Girls Who Code.”

Let’s take a closer look at the details. Reshaping the boundaries of jewelry, this collection takes a bespoke and made-to-order approach. This therefore limits excess CO2 emissions and waste. To begin the journey, customers acquire the NFT or Certificate of Authenticity of their chosen piece. Then KAVERAS ingeniously combines blockchain and luxury, confirming authenticity through the traceability of the gems and materials through the NFT.

There are two pendant choices:

Pendant one: Enamel decorated with the emblematic white, pink and red colors of the Ladies of BAYC logo. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, with the option of 18K rose or white gold.

Pendant Two: A heart egg shape that ingeniously unfolds to reveal the hidden Ladies of BAYC logo.

In addition, an NFC chip gives owners access to exclusive utilities while scanning. In addition, each piece offers augmented reality (AR) filters for virtual wear. So, owners can show their pendant on platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, and Zoom calls.

The meaning of the collection

The co-founder of the Ladies of BAYC, known by the Twitter/X pseudonym @Tigerisfine, said: “As the female counterpart to the Bored Ape Yacht Club, our community is diverse, strong and unapologetically itself. Our partnership with KAVERAS resonates with our values: capturing sophistication, boldness and self-expression. KAVERAS’ dedication to creating luxury pieces that embody femininity makes them the perfect partner for this remarkable venture.”

Rooted in the concept of beginnings and energy, this collection expands from KAVERAS’ Triad Collection. In addition, a percentage of the collection’s proceeds will be donated to Girls Who Code, an international non-profit organization that empowers women in computer science.

The Ladies of BAYC collection offers several price points, starting at $2500 USD for enamel-only designs. Additional options include stones such as emeralds, black diamonds and pink sapphires ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 USD. The debut also includes the fronting exclusive to Ladies of BAYC and BAYC members on September 5, 2023. This will be followed by a public coinage on September 7, 2023.
