Weekly NFT sales record small ebb as Bitcoin maintains dominance

According to recent data, sales of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) fell 1.31% last week to $308.23 million, down $4.09 million from the previous week’s $312.32 million. NFTs around Bitcoin continued to lead the way among 21 different blockchain networks, seeing a 4.10% increase in sales this week.

This week, 873,268 NFT buyers and 619,949 sellers were involved in transactions worth $308.23 million in NFT sales. Despite the number of buyers and sellers each increasing by more than 20%, sales fell slightly by 1.31% over the week.

The most expensive NFT, an Ethereum-based ‘RBX Vesting Voucher #42’, fetched $741,910 four days ago, equivalent to over 328 ether. The second highest valued sale was an “ORDI BRC-20 NFT,” which changed hands two days ago for around 9.72 BTC or $428,277, according to cryptoslam.io statistics.

The top five most expensive NFTs sold last week.

Bitcoin secured the leading position among 21 different blockchains with revenues of $138.58 million, marking an increase of 4.10% from the previous week. Ethereum claimed second place with NFT sales of $69.51 million, down slightly by 0.88% from the previous week.

The top three blockchains in terms of seven-day sales according to cryptoslam.io statistics.

Meanwhile, Solana secured third place with $49 million in revenue, experiencing a notable decline of 32.60% from last week. Polygon’s NFT sales rose 147.24% this week, placing it fourth among the top blockchains in NFT sales, with a total of $21.36 million.

Finally, fifth-place Avalanche reported revenue of $8.6 million, a significant increase of 102.04% week over week. This week’s top-grossing digital collection comes from the Uncategorized Ordinals compilation, which generated $52.15 million in sales.

Gas-hero-coupon NFTs from Polygon followed suit, generating $8.35 million via the Polygon blockchain, while Solana’s Froganas amassed $8.25 million. BRC-20 NFTs raised $6.03 million, and the Dokyo series on Avalanche contributed $5.84 million to this week’s NFT sales.

Despite a slight decline over the past seven days, the market maintains a robust stance, marking a 48% increase in month-on-month sales, with total non-fungible token sales reaching $1.71 billion.
