DOJ Definitations crypto unit, claims that Biden Administration Branch has used for ‘reckless’ regulation

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) scraps a unity within the federal agency that focused exclusively on crypto-related studies.

In a new memo that was released on Monday, the DOJ says that it is planning to eliminate the so-called National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Unit (NCET), which was established during the Biden administration to prosecute crypto-related companies.

The American deputy attorney -general -general Todd Blanche says in the memo that the agency has ended unit now that President Trump has asked for the “end of the regulatory armament against digital assets”.

“The Ministry of Justice is not a regulator for digital assets. However, the earlier administration has used the Ministry of Justice to follow a reckless strategy of regulations through prosecution, which was poorly conceived and poorly implemented.

The Ministry of Justice will no longer pursue lawsuits or enforcement actions that result in the regulatory frameworks being paved on digital assets, while President Trump’s actual supervisors do this work outside the criminal law framework for criminal law. “

Blanche says that the unit is dissolved to comply with the executive command of President Donald Trump, signed in January to determine “regulatory clarity” for digital assets.

The NCET was founded in 2021 and consisted of public prosecutors from the Witwing and Cyber crime units of the DOJ together with lawyers from other district firms, Fortune reports.

The unit participated in some of the largest crypto cases in the Doj, including Tornado Cash, a crypto mixer that uses cryptographic smart contracts and zero knowledge certificates to disguise digital asset transaction councils.

The Memo van Blanche gives DOJ employees to limit its crypto enforcement strategy.

Says the memo,

“… in accordance with the guidelines of President Trump and the priorities of the Ministry of Justice, the investigations and persecutions of the department involving digital assets, must focus on prosecuting persons who are victims of investors in digital assets, or those who use digital assets to promote criminele, criminele -delicticism Cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel and cartel.
