Community contributions and development
Noir (v0.10) was initially not user-friendly, but has become more production-ready over time. ZKPassport’s community contributions include libraries such as RSA, ECDSA and a date library to perform age verification. The use of Noir in other languages, such as the Circom, and Halo2, shows that there are notable migrations from other languages to Noir. Noir has also participated in hackathons such as ZK Hack Lisbon and receives an independent security audit to be production ready.
An activity from GitHub through zkpassport’s account is proof that active library contributions won’t occur until September 2025. The Noir Discord community has expanded to over 5,000 members. The ecosystem has been strengthened through venture support from a16z Crypto in 2024 upon the founding of Noir and ZKPassport.

The current audit would potentially allow production release by the first quarter of 2026, which would open up adoption opportunities for companies.
