Blockchain development platform Alchemy said that the Solana developer Dexterlab has taken over for an unknown fee.
The acquisition will speed up the development of Solana-based web3 applications to meet the growing demand for Enterprise, Alchemy said in an emailed announcement on Friday.
The Dexterlab technology has previously powered the Solana development of Google and the Solana Foundation and established itself as “a go-to-infrastructure provider”, according to the announcement of Alchemy.
One of Alchemy’s objectives in the acquisition of Dexterlab is to consolidate the development of Solana in addition to that of Ethereum to reduce the complexity for projects that build in multiple networks.
Alchemy can try to catch the growing fame of Solana as a preferred location for blockchain applications.
Although Ethereum remains comfortably locked in terms of total value, there are some statistics where Solana can claim the predominance. Active addresses on Solana, for example, have been more than 210 million in the past three months, while Ethereum and Ethereum Layer-2 addresses are just less than 80 million. Transactions on Solana have also surpassed Ethereum: 4.75 billion to 1 billion.
