
Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner Summer Mersinger will leave the agency on 30 May to become the new CEO of Blockchain Association, according to a May 14, according to a May 14 Announcement.
The announcement states that the appointment of Mersinger comes at a criticism of the legislative moment for digital assets in Washington, where the blockchain association is insisting on congress actions on the market structure and stablecoin legislation.
The group described the selection process as exhaustive and noted that the regulatory experience and Capitol Hill -background motivated Mersinger’s choice.

In particular, Mersinger was recently driven as one of the best contenders to become chairman of the CFTC in a potential Trump administration.
