Suntory Group, a leading beverage company, is about to launch its first-ever pilot sale of Premium Malt bottled beer on Avalanche.
Known for its globally acclaimed “Yamazaki Whiskey”, Suntory will offer a limited release of tokenized Premium Malt bottles to the Japanese market from mid-November 2024.
As part of the project, the 715ml Premium Malt beer, matured in Yamazaki Whiskey casks, will feature Near Field Communication (NFC) technology on the neck of the bottle. When the cap is opened and the NFC tape is broken, customers will receive a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) as a consumption certificate, creating a unique digital collectible for Premium Malt enthusiasts.
Suntory’s Chief Digital Innovation Officer, Rio “Popeye” Inaba, and Ava Labs’ Japan Head Roi Hirata announced the initiative during Thailand Blockchain Week.
