The VeChain ecosystem has welcomed the launch of the Oily dApp by UCO Network, a project focused on environmental sustainability. This application aims to revolutionize the recycling of used cooking oil by using blockchain technology to promote efficient waste management and reward environmentally friendly practices.
This was recently announced via a social media post, revealing that VeChain is now home to Oily dApp.
Oily dApp was launched last Wednesday and introduced features like ‘learn to earn’ and ‘mapping to earn’ in the early stages, while ‘recycle to earn’ will soon be available soon.
The ‘learn to earn’ feature encourages users to engage with educational content. Users can earn rewards by acquiring new skills and knowledge about the proper handling and recycling of used cooking oil, blockchain technology and sustainable practices. The goal is to make learning both useful and profitable.
Similarly, the ‘map to earn’ feature allows users to contribute to the community by mapping restaurants that produce used cooking oil. This crowdsourced mapping effort helps the UCO Network promote efficient recycling practices and increase the number of restaurants that recycle UCO.
In this first phase, the team has whitelisted 50 oil breakers. Mapping participants can earn rewards for their contributions.
Meanwhile, the upcoming ‘recycle to earn’ feature will allow users to earn rewards by actively participating in the recycling of used cooking oil. By properly disposing of used cooking oil at designated collection points, users can contribute to environmental sustainability and be rewarded for their efforts.
Notably, the Oily dApp is currently in a testing phase, with the team relying on the VeChain community to provide valuable feedback for a smoother future launch. Additionally, during the announcement that Oily dApp would be joining VeChain’s VeBetterDAO, the project team revealed that they had received a grant from VeChain.
