Ethereum NFT collecting platform Veve has launched its new VeVe Comics platform and digital comic book reader, the company said Thursday. The first wave of comic books comes from Marvel Comics, the industry giant.
With Marvel as a launch partner, fans now have access to more than 300 new digital Marvel issues, including those based on heroes like Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain Marvel and Black Panther. New comic books are added the same day they are available in print and can be viewed panel by panel; the company claims that every page has been digitally converted by hand.
What makes VeVe’s comic book platform different from buying digital comics on Amazon or the now-defunct Comixology? In addition to the standard digital comic books, which cost the same as the print and digital copies available elsewhere, VeVe also sells limited edition NFT versions.

The limited edition comics are on average about $3 more expensive than the standard digital versions, which are not classified as NFTs.
“As passionate readers and collectors ourselves, we recognized that digital comics fans have been calling for a more immersive experience,” VeVe CEO David Yu said in a statement. “Our goal is to create a platform that makes discovering comics fun and easy – a platform focused on function and design, [and] promotes community and accessibility for all.”
The VeVe comic book app is free to download on iOS and Android. VeVe users can access the NFT marketplace and the Comics app with the same account. VeVe said the integration of Marvel Comics is just the beginning of its alliance with several brands in the comic book industry.
Founded in 2018, VeVe specializes in digital collectibles from a variety of major entertainment brands, including Marvel, DC Comics, Disney and beyond. Immutable X is best known as a gaming network used for NFTs for games like Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians.
