Ubisoft has announced the Ethereum NFT coin date for its first original blockchain game, Champion Tactics: Grimoria Chroniclesstating that “Warlords” will be available on December 18th.
Champions Tactics will offer a private coin for those added to the “darklist” starting at 6 a.m. ET, and will open the coin to the general public on Monday at 2 p.m. ET.
An NFT coin is essentially the primary sale for a project, but unlike most NFT launches, Ubisoft promises that 8,000 Champions tactics Warlord NFTs will be free to strike.
In the game, Warlords are pixel-style heroes with weapons and are designed as NFTs for social media profile pictures (PFP). Collectors only need to pay the Ethereum network’s gas fees to create the NFTs, which can then be used in-game as one’s account avatar.

According to Ubisoft, holding a Warlord NFT in a crypto wallet grants access to the game’s next coin for the playable in-game characters. Warlord NFT owners will be able to earn five Champions Tactics characters for free at a later, unannounced date.
While the Warlords NFTs will release on Ethereum, the Champions Tactics game itself will be deployed on the Ethereum-compatible game. Oasys chain. A total of 9,999 Warlords NFTs will be minted, with an additional 1,000 distributed to the Oasys community and 999 retained by Ubisoft for future marketing initiatives and giveaways.

Not much has been revealed about Champions Tactics’ strategy and gameplay, but some details have been revealed. In the world of Grimoria there are seven different factions ruled by warring warlords. Each faction has its own look, as there are zombie-like characters, demonic characters, and medieval knights, to name a few.

The player-versus-player tactical RPG has a dark fantasy aesthetic and features characters that resemble collectible tabletop game figurines. First announced in June 2023, Champions tactics will be released on PC sometime in early 2024.
Ubisoft has also confirmed “collaborations” with NFT gaming projects Pixelmon and CyberKongz in recent days, although the extent of each alliance is unclear.

In both cases, the project tweeted that it would “support Champions Tactics with the upcoming Warlords coin and launch” and explore further opportunities together. Ubisoft’s official game account quoted and shared both announcement tweets.
