Let’s face it: the NFT space moves very fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.

Don’t get us wrong – the more people entered the room, the merrier. But due to the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s getting harder and harder to keep up with all the news, launches and general happenings.

Well, you can leave the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you as we put together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to watch out for this week.

C64 dreams

Where: Handy port

Why: Brendan Dawes continues to pay homage to the home computers of his childhood and returns to Nifty Gateway for another glitched-out, video game-inspired drop. This time, the artist on display at MoMA has used the aging 8-bit Commodore C64 home computer to create six algorithmic sculptures inspired by original C64 game footage.

When: May 16 at 1:30 p.m. ET

Where: MakersPlace

Why: Acclaimed motion graphic artist Patric Ortmann – known professionally as MotionSickness – will once again grace the MakersPlace platform with a unique new drop. Entitled CRE·ATU·RES, Ortmann attempts to start a “journey into the realm of the unknown” with this eccentric collection by presenting a collection of enchanting, fictional creatures.

Editions #2 | Dancers on rooftops

Where: Handy port

Why: Dancers on Rooftops is a new edition based release that comes as part two of the annual limited print and NFT campaign created by prominent photographer and Next Up alum Ben Hopper. The collection is billed as a retrospective introduction to some of Hopper’s more notable projects and a “subtle yet tantalizing perspective” on what it means to “dance on a cityscape.”
