XRPL connects to the AI economy while x402 brings that with it $XRP & $RLUSD Payments to autonomous agents
The intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence is entering a new phase $XRP General Ledger (XRPL) joins the emerging agentic economy through its integration with x402, an open payment standard designed for autonomous AI transactions.
According to t54.ai, a platform building a trusted infrastructure for AI agents, XRPL now is supported on x402allowing AI agents to make payments using $XRP and Ripple’s $RLUSD stablecoin for services such as API access, AI inference and computing resources.
Well, the integration is enabled via the x402 facilitator within t54’s XRPL toolkit, giving AI agents the ability to send and receive payments directly on-chain.
By removing traditional payment barriers, middlemen and manual approvals, the system enables real-time machine-to-machine transactions where AI agents can independently access services and settle payments.
Why is this a leap forward? Well, this development represents a major step towards an AI-powered economy where digital agents are able to not only perform tasks but also manage financial interactions.
$XRP Ledger takes a step towards AI-powered trading with x402 integration
Through x402, AI systems can autonomously pay for the resources they need, laying the foundation for a new era of blockchain-based machine trading.
t54 also highlighted its role in Agentic Payments Onchain in Singapore, a curated event co-hosted with Ripple that brings together developers, builders and industry leaders exploring the future of AI-native payments powered by XRPL, x402 and decentralized finance infrastructure.
The x402 protocol has gained momentum as a payment standard that allows AI agents to transact directly over HTTP.
Unlike traditional systems that rely on cards, accounts or human authorization, x402 autonomous software offers the ability to pay for APIs, AI models and digital services as part of their operations.
The growing one x402 ecosystem includes major technology and payments players such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Amazon Web Services, Google, Circle, Coinbase and Stripe, reflecting the increasing demand for payment networks built for the AI economy.
Now that XRPL is integrated into x402, developers can take advantage of it $XRP for fast, efficient settlement or use of blockchain $RLUSD for transactions with a stable value when building AI-driven applications and services.
This move expands XRPL’s role beyond conventional payment solutions and positions it as a potential settlement layer for autonomous economies where AI agents can securely exchange value with minimal human intervention.
As AI evolves from automated tools to independent digital actors, the ability of machines to seamlessly execute transactions will become a critical part of the next generation of commerce. XRPL’s integration with x402 places it at the intersection of blockchain and AI innovation and helps shape the infrastructure behind the future of autonomous digital economies.
