Base Beats Arbitrum, escaped the list of Vitalik Buterin with Layer-2 networks that are doomed to fail

Base, a low-2 (L2) blockchain developed by Coinbase, transferred from a phase 0 to phase 1 role-up, which effectively overtaken Arbitrum (ARB) as the largest Ethereum scale solution.

Phases refer to a framework for assessing the maturity of L2 rollups, based on milestones proposed by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

Basic becomes the largest Ethereum L2, arbitrum follows

Data on L2Beat show that Arbitrum is no longer the biggest optimistic roles on Ethereum. L2Beat is a website of analyzes and research aimed at Ethereum Layer-2 Scaling.

After an increase of $ 557 million in TVL (total value locked), Base Arbitrum L2 caught up with a margin of more than $ 710 million in a total value (TVs).

In addition to catching up arbitrum one, the basis is also aged from phase 0, where the rollup is completely driven by its operators (full training wheels).

It is now a phase 1 -rollup, with smart contract board. However, because a security council remains in force to process potential bugs, this phase contains ‘limited training wheels’.

“Proud that basis now phase 1 is-and #1 by TVs, but it is still day one. Time to bring the world to the chain,” wrote Base Maker Jesse Pollak.

This comment is in line with Base’s vision to expand the ecosystem of the Creator of the chains and to promote virality and creativity.

In the meantime, with the basis now under phase 1 -rollups, it has effectively escaped the list of Vitalik Buterin with L2s that are doomed to fail. In September, Buterin marked a select list of L2 networks that are doomed to fail unless they are making progress.

“Welcome to the Full-EVM Stage 1 Bend Base,” Bterin noted.

The Ethereum director said he would only recognize L2 networks that reach phase 1+ adulthood. Buterin referred to his threshold for measuring different stages of L2S based on a decentralization scale.

“Phase 1 (75%threshold for the council to ignore the evidence system, 26%+ of the council must be outside the Rollup team) a very reasonable moderate milestone. The multisigs I am in have had no livery -abomination in years, let alone 26%.

This ultimatum was in line with Buterin’s vision on promoting cryptographic trust. Buuterin recently proposed a plan to scale the L1 and L2 protocols from Ethereum in 2025.

Beincrypto reported that he cited the stimulation of the L2 coordination with the Ecosystem of Ethereum, such as burning, deploying and financing public goods.

Although this is the first time that the basic arbitrum has overtaken, it is not the first time it has challenged its market position. In retrospect Base TVL in September $ 2 billion after a growth of 400%, which brought it closer to Arbitrum’s $ 2.6 billion TVL.

Aerodrome remains the leading protocol based on L2. It has up to $ 830 million in TVL, an increase of 5% in the past week. Other leading protocols on the base are Morpho, Aave and Uniswap.

While the basis takes the lead, it is impossible to forget the Achilles heel of Arbitrum. The network still digs out of a crash of 80%. The most important interventions to recover include token purchasing and the recently rejected Nvidia Accelerator program -Bid.

Beincrypto data shows that the ARB price of Arbitrum has risen by 2% in the last 24 hours. At the moment it was trade for $ 0.33.
