BNB Chain has launched the Good Will Alliance, aimed at combating malicious Maximum Extraordinable Value (MEV) practices, starting with targeted measures against sandwich attacks.
The initiative is intended to unite infrastructure builders, validators and the wider community to determine ethical standards, best practices and improved security within the BNB ecosystem.
Sandwich attacks, a common form of malicious MEV, have significantly influenced retail traders on Binance Smart Chain (BSC), causing losing hundreds of millions of dollars per BNBCHAIN DAO.
In response to these challenges, the initial action of the Alliance focuses on the softening of sandwich attacks by advanced filter mechanisms.
Infrastructure providers Blockrazor and 48 Club have used specialized Sandwich-attack filters in their block construction processes, thereby establishing an early benchmark for Alliance participants. The Alliance has set up a Github -Repository -Lijstbuilders who meet these ethical standards, where BSC vallriders are encouraged to accept exclusive block bids from this examined group.
For each BNB chain, the strategy of the Alliance includes defining clearer criteria for identifying sandwich attacks, developing advanced tooling to detect malignant MEV behavior and to promote deeper cooperation between communities to strengthen the security of the chain.
These efforts will evolve through administrative processes, BNB emergency proposals (BEPS) and regular codebase updates, aimed at long-term improvements in network breakthrough.
The initiative received a strong approval from the community, proven by a DAO proposal that was elapsed with 79% approval on 14 February.
The proposal emphasizes the need for community-driven measures, including fines for malicious builders, exclusion of irresponsible validators and the approval of safer RPC nodes and MEV-protected portfolios.
The Good Will Alliance plans to continue to expand its reach, actively looking for extra members to introduce further community -oriented security projects in 2025.
