Over the past few weeks, the Manta Network community has been buzzing with activity and challenges, all leading to this momentous announcement. These engaging activities not only strengthened community ties, but also provided members with an early opportunity to claim their unique .manta domain names.
MANTA ID, the driving force behind the creation of .manta domains, uses the robust SPACE ID 3.0 infrastructure. This decentralized naming system is positioned to become an integral part of the Manta Pacific ecosystem. It enables seamless integration between wallets, websites and decentralized applications (dApps).
Owning a .manta domain offers several benefits, including creating a unique Web3 identity, simplifying addresses with memorable domain names, and facilitating Crypto and NFT transfers using .manta domains.
Overview of pre-registration, auctions and exclusive offers
Pre-registration eligibility is targeted at the Manta community, with active participants in previous quests and campaigns securing a coveted spot on the pre-registration whitelist. Each Manta Domain Allowlist Ticket NFT contributes to the ability to claim up to seven .manta domains during this exclusive phase.
The pre-registration will be in two steps: an auction phase from December 22, 2023 to December 26, 2023, followed by a first-come, first-served (FCFS) registration phase from December 27, 2023 to January 1, 2024. .
The auction phase, exclusive to whitelisted members, lasts five days and includes bidding on new and existing domain names. Minimum bids are set at 105% above the previous bid, with options for continuous bidding or immediate refunds if outbid. Winning bids lead to domain registration rights.
After the auction, winners in the FCFS phase can secure their domains, while others can claim the remaining domains based on their quota. Quotas not used during the auction phase will be available for use in the first come, first served phase. However, certain .manta domains are reserved for ecosystem partners and projects, play a crucial role in the ecosystem and are not open for public registration.
After pre-registration, trading of .manta domains will be available on Manta Network’s NFT marketplaces. The .manta domain service will redefine decentralized identities within the Manta Network ecosystem and its extensive range of dApps.
