Alex Mashinsky has just been arrested!
If you don’t know who that is, he is the ex-CEO of the now-defunct “cryptobank” Celsius.
Alex and others (allegedly) took clients’ money and used it to make risky investments.
…and when that started to go south, it is alleged that he and others “orchestrated a plan to inflate the price of Celsius’s own token, CEL.” In what appears to be an attempt to hide their losses.
But perhaps the most egregious act was the whole T-shirt thing.
(Okay, losing people’s money is worse – but the t-shirt thing wasn’t far off).
