World Mobile, a mobile network with blockchain, cooperates with Ditto CME, the parent company of Dito Telecom, one of the fastest growing mobile operators in the Philippines, according to the latest reports described to Finbold on 5 February.
The new partnership is expected to bring mobile and broadband services to rural areas and at the same time introduce blockchain technology into the financial landscape of the country.
World Mobile’s Airnodes, some of which will be powered by Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (Leo) Satellitebackhaul, will play a key role in the operations.
Mobile and broadband services in disadvantaged areas
The telecommunication -Ecosystem of Dito CME merge with World Mobile’s Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (Depin), wants to offer the partnership around 25 million people with reliable and affordable internet.
Micky Watkins, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of World Mobile Group, emphasized the meaning of these developments:

The DTAKA E-Wallet
Dtaka, a blockchain-driven e-Wallet built on the worldwide mobile chain and set to be integrated into the Ecosystem of Dito CME, will be central to the collaboration.
The wallet works as a dual-token system and offers stable token functionality for transfers and mobile payments and introduces a utility token that is used for gamification, loyalty rewards and user involvement.
