Polymath Research Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-grade infrastructure for regulated digital securities, announced on September 11th a strategic partnership with High Ridge Trust, a regulated U.S. trust company specializing in institutional digital assets. The collaboration aims to bridge Polymath’s tokenization technology with High Ridge Trust’s custody and trading capabilities, offering institutions a more streamlined entry into tokenized markets.
Bridging the Gap Between Technology and Regulation
This partnership brings together two key components essential for institutional adoption of tokenization. Polymath provides software for the issuance, compliance, and management of regulated digital securities, while High Ridge Trust offers the security, transparency, and institutional controls of a regulated trust company. By combining blockchain-based tokenization with traditional financial safeguards, the collaboration aims to create a powerful ecosystem that meets the needs of institutions looking to participate in tokenized markets.
Enhancing Custody, Trading, and Yield Opportunities
As part of the agreement, High Ridge Trust will leverage its institutional digital asset capabilities to provide custody and client-directed trading services for tokenized assets. This partnership also opens up potential yield opportunities as the tokenized market continues to evolve. Karen Wendel, President and CEO of High Ridge Trust, emphasized the importance of regulated financial infrastructure and clear responsibilities in facilitating institutional adoption of tokenization.
Expanding into Public Markets
This collaboration comes on the heels of Polymath’s recent agreement on August 18th to be acquired by TruGolf Holdings, a Nasdaq-listed company. The acquisition is poised to bring Polymath’s blockchain and tokenization infrastructure to U.S. public markets, subject to customary closing conditions. The growing interest in tokenized-securities infrastructure is evident in institutional deals such as ICE’s partnership with tZERO to develop NYSE tokenized securities infrastructure.
Both companies are committed to identifying technical and operational initiatives that leverage their respective platforms to create a more connected experience for institutions. However, it is important to note that these initiatives and the TruGolf acquisition are subject to market, regulatory, and closing conditions.
