The driving force behind LIBERTAS OMNIBUS is a collective mission to promote personal freedom for all individuals. By creating a dynamic and interactive environment, the project aims to foster engagement and collaboration within the wider NFT community. zkSync is grateful to the 179,365 active community members who have actively participated in shaping the use of NFTs on the platform since its launch on the mainnet. As a token of appreciation, during the initial phase of the experiment, 10,000 randomly selected members of this group were awarded exclusive NFTs.
At the heart of zkSync is the innovative zero-knowledge rollup (ZK-rollup) technology. This advanced solution enables faster and more cost-effective transactions while maintaining the robust security and decentralization of the Ethereum network. The project was developed by Matter Labs and has continuously evolved to meet the growing needs of the Ethereum ecosystem. It first introduced zkSync 1.0 in June 2020, followed by the launch of 2.0 in late 2022, with a full mainnet deployment planned for 2023.
The rebranding of zkSync to zkSync Era in February 2023 brought with it a renewed focus on its zkEVM technology. zkEVM is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-enabled ZK technology, which enables the implementation of zero-knowledge-proof computation for scaling Ethereum smart contracts.
