Deep-pocketed crypto traders are abruptly moving hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other digital assets to and from prominent crypto exchange platforms.
New data from whale research platform Whale Alert shows that wealthy investors are moving more than $400 million worth of top crypto assets and more than $70 million worth of top altcoins.
Transactions involving BTC and ETH on Whale Alert’s radar include:
- 3,979 BTC worth $175,237,686 transferred from an unknown wallet to Coinbase.
- 2,244 BTC worth $97,937,208 transferred from an unknown wallet to Coinbase.
- 1,040 BTC worth $45,608,237 transferred from Coinbase to an unknown new wallet.
- 1,999 BTC worth $87,662,421 transferred from Kraken to Bitfinex.
Bitcoin is trading at $43,543 at the time of writing, while Ethereum is trading at $2,318.
Whale Alert’s data also shows that crypto whales are moving around non-ETH altcoins, such as the smart contract platform Solana (SOL), the layer 2 scaling solution Polygon (MATIC), and XRP, the digital asset used by payment company Ripple Labs.
Notable altcoin transactions on Whale Alert’s radar include:
- 500,000 SOL worth $47,042,615 transferred from an unknown wallet to Coinbase.
- 113,714 SOL worth $10,709,941 transferred from Coinbase to an unknown wallet.
- 48,131,458 MATIC worth $40,822,698 transferred from an unknown wallet to another unknown wallet.
- 33,471,499 MATIC worth $28,310,047 transferred from an unknown wallet to another unknown wallet.
- 32,619,804 MATIC worth $27,542,219 transferred from Polygon Staking to an unknown wallet.
- 20,000,000 XRP worth $12,294,187 transferred from an unknown wallet to Bybit.
- 25,200,000 XRP worth $15,540,992 transferred from an unknown wallet to Bitso.
- 24,900,000 XRP worth $15,344,041 transferred from an unknown wallet to Bitstamp.
SOL, MATIC and XRP are trading at $94.69, $0.854 and $0.618 respectively at the time of writing.
