Perhaps it is a sign of times when nothing is too weird to be discounted.
A deep fake video from the US President Donald Trump who called for the return of Velociraptors and Pterodactylen to patrol the border with Mexico, went viral on Tuesday, with more than 1.2 million views and 20,000 likes.
The clip, clearly labeled at the end as a deepfake and uploaded to X Monday, has a convincingly displayed Trump in the Oval Office of the White House, which suggests that the Ministry of Domestic Security could unleash the prehistoric creatures on the southern border one day.
“My administration and I have carefully paid attention to the work of colossal laboratories, the biotech company that has generated the terrible wolf,” said the Trump Deepfake. “But imagine this, people: Velociraptor mounted border patrol agents. They will release your head. Pterodactylen patrols about heaven, velociraptors on the floor.”
“To prevent immigration apocalypse, we may have to prevent dinopocalypse.”
In April, the Genetic Engineering Company Colossal Biosciences, which was established in Texas, claimed to have postponed “the terrible wolf”. The announcement and unveiling of the genetically manipulated wolves led to speculation of what other extinct species, including dinosaurs, could be reduced.

If it sounds absurd, it will be because it is. But for many viewers it was simply credible enough to really look. Many turned to grok, the native AI assistant on X, who for the time being concluded that the clip was “almost certainly presented”, but stopped fake fake.
“The video you mentioned and shows that someone looks like Donald Trump over dinosaurs for border enforcement, was almost certainly generated,” Grok replied. “No credible sources, official data or news broadcasts confirm such a statement from Trump, whose actual border policy focuses on walls and enforcement, not fantastic scenarios.”
Thanks to the progress in AI video clip generators such as Google VEO 3, OpenAi’s Sora and Kling AI, a distinction between synthetic and real content is becoming increasingly difficult.
Although the clip was generated, some users noticed that the idea that Trump suggests the use of dinosaurs to patrol the border was not completely out of character.
“It is clear that this is AI … but the fact that it looks like something he would say, disturbs,” said an X user.
“It is sad that I had to verify that this is satire,” said another.
As AI-generated content becomes more advanced, even the most bizarre clips can slide through the cracks.
Maverick Alexander, host of the Storytelling Comedy -Podcast DarbyCast, took the honor for the viral video clip.
“Many people are now trying to make Deepfakes, but I have not seen the plane on his voice and word choice,” Maverick said in a later message. “As a result, I would probably have to keep making it, isn’t it?”
