THORChain integrates basic L2
In October, Nine Realms, which supports the THORChain ecosystem, unveiled the network’s roadmap, indicating plans to support Base L2 for cross-chain swaps.
“Base could be the next big chain connected to THORChain. The Nine Realms team is working on delivery to mainnet,” reads an excerpt from their Medium post.
The integration is expected to take place in the second week of January. In her 2025 preview, Jade, known for her THORChain ecosystem insights, emphasized that this development is imminent.
THORChain uses the IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol) to improve its app layer by bringing additional resources into the ecosystem. By connecting more chains, THORChain aims to increase liquidity and improve the experience for Liquidity Providers (LPs).
