Mike Winkelmann, better known as Beeple in the Web3 world, is best known for his ‘Everydays’ series, which started in 2007 with the creation of one piece of art per day. The artist was forever etched in NFT history when his collage ‘Everydays: the First 5000 Days’ sold at Christie’s auction house for $69 million USD – the highest sale for a single NFT to date.
What they do now:

4. Tyler Hobbs

Tyler Hobbs is considered by many in the Web3 space to be a pioneer of generative art through NFTs, with the most notable set of achievements being his Fidenza collection, due out in 2021. The series of 999 generated images have now become highly sought-after works of art, selling for millions of dollars each at famous auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
What they do now:
Based on a recent X post, Hobbs is celebrating the one-year anniversary of his project QQL, created in collaboration with Indigo, aka Team Dandelion on X. This celebration will include a few surprises in September, as well as offering physical prints.

5. XCOPY

What they are known for:
XCOPY, the anonymous London-based digital artist, is best known for their glitchy works that have seemingly inspired an entire subset of artists. The subjects of their works often focus on themes such as dystopia or apathy and are littered with memetic nods to cryptoculture.
One of their most notable works is ‘All-Time High in the City’ which is subsequently their best-selling work, minted for 0.5 ETH in 2021 and sold for $6.1 million USD in 2022.
What they do now:
While the artist is active on the X app almost daily, they’ve shared little about what they’re currently up to. However, their works are still widely represented around the world and in various digital galleries in the Web3 space. While no official projects in the works have been shared, there has been some speculation surrounding a recent post where some fans believe an open edition release could be just around the corner.

6. Dmitri Chernyak

What they are known for:
Dmitri Cherniak is a Canadian-born, New York-based generative artist known for creating a unique p5js script stored on Ethereum via Art Blocks, which automatically produced a unique generation of art – this would lead to his Ringers- series, consisting of 1,000 NFTS of different combinations of strings and pegs to create unique geometric works of art.
Since the creation of this series, Cherniak has resold the works for astronomical sums, with one of the most significant and most recent sales being that of Ringers #879, also known as ‘The Goose’, which sold through Sotheby’s for $6.2 million . USD to Punk6529.
What they do now:
Based on a recent X post, it looks like Cherniak is getting closer to launching a physical art book for his collection Light Years, which will be produced in collaboration with photography platform Fellowship. Another post from Cherniak refers to his increased interest in physical prints, as he right-clicked saved and “tested” a few for his own viewing pleasure.
7. Hackatao

Hackatao, a personal formed by Italian artist duo Sergio Scalet and Nadia Squarci, first founded in 2007, has been a longtime practitioner of contemporary art.
The duo got their start in Web3 through SuperRare and quickly found success and community resonance for their works, with topics often touching on major social issues, the environment, humanity, crypto, art history and more.
What they do now:
While the duo haven’t made any major announcements recently, they did post a 10-minute animation first seen at NFCsummit Lisbon, showcasing their artistic journey to date.

8. Matt DesLauriers

What they are known for:
Matt DesLauriers, known in Web3 by his X-handle Mattdesl, is a Canadian-born artist living in London best known for his generative art projects Subscapes and Meridian, both of which were originally released on the Art Blocks platform.
In addition to NFTs, DesLauriers has done a significant amount of commercial work, including interactive installations that have been featured at various events and integrated into various shows around the world.

While we admittedly don’t understand most of what DesLauriers is posting on X, we did see some stress test works that could possibly be an indication of new work to come, or that the artist and coder are just having fun. In addition, although now sold out, the artist has notably released a beautiful art book showcasing his work in collaboration with Monopo and VertoEditions.
9. LITTLE

Victor Langlois, better known in the Web3 world as FEWOCiOUS, is an American digital artist and painter who found his rise in the NFT space between 2020 and 2022.
Notably, Langlois has worked with the LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall, the estate of the late musician David Bowie, and Billboard magazine – and recently released a collaboration with Adidas.
What they do now:
