Palm Collective, an open source, Web3 community-supported initiative backed by Consensys and Polygon, has unveiled the Obscura Community, a platform designed to support Web3 artists, as shared today by Palm Collective. In addition to this launch, the project has also announced a $1,000 art competition to “celebrate the birth of the community and Women’s Month.”
The competition, called “Call x Digital Art: Egalitarian Utopia,” kicks off on March 11 and welcomes all artists to participate. In addition to a $1,000 prize, the winning artwork will be on display in a storefront on Broadway Avenue in New York in April. 1, Palm Collective noted.
According to the team, a selection committee including Empress Trash, Dawnia AKA, ObscuraDAO, and UnknownCollector will invite the top 15 to 20 artists to showcase their work in a wall-to-wall exhibition at Lume Studios NYC during the Palm Collective NFTNYC. event. Artists interested in participating must link a crypto wallet to create a Palm ID CARD, have their artworks appear as NFT on the Palm network and submit their entry by March 22, Palm Collective points out. Each artist may submit one entry, which must be an original piece and not previously beaten elsewhere and must be minted on the Palm Network.
In addition, participants are required to comply with Palm Collective’s terms and conditions conditions and be prepared to provide a high-definition version of their work for projection, if chosen. The competition is open to a variety of digital media including photos, videos, music, 3D and AI, with the stipulation that AI-generated entries are clearly identified.
The submission window closes on March 22 at 4pm EST, followed by a curation period from March 23 to March 25. to start at 7am EST on March 26 and ends at 4pm EST on March 28. The selected winners’ artworks will be exhibited for one day at LUME Studios NYC during the Egalitarian Utopia Closing Party, which one runs from 7pm to noon on April 1, Palm Collective added.
