Nifty Gateway, an early player in the NFT market, has announced that its platform will be completely closed on February 23, 2026.
According to the announcement, Nifty Gateway has switched to ‘shoot-only mode’ from this launch.
The company stated that Nifty Gateway was launched in 2020 with a vision to transform digital art and has hosted dozens of innovative projects. NFT has been launched since then. The statement added, “We are very proud of the work pioneered by the Nifty team and thank the artists and users who have joined us on this journey.”
Users who have USD or ETH balances on the platform, or who own NFTs, will receive instructions via email on how to transfer their assets from the platform.
The platform was especially popular during the NFT craze of 2020-2021, with numerous NFT collections published there. However, interest in NFTs has almost completely disappeared recently.
Nifty Gateway was acquired by the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini in 2019. Today we informed you that the long-running lawsuit between Gemini and the SEC has come to an end.
