Ethereum layer-2 blockchain Mode today officially integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as an interoperability standard. The integration provides Mode with Chainlink’s interoperability features, including Programmable Token Transfers and cross-chain Arbitrary Messaging, which are essential for a wide range of decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) applications.
“Choosing the only interoperability solution with Level 5 security as the canonical cross-chain infrastructure can accelerate Mode’s growth and adoption in the long term,” said James Ross, Core Contributor at Mode.
Ross also highlighted the importance of Chainlink CCIP’s advanced features and ease of implementation for developers within the Fashion ecosystem.
According to the announcement, Chainlink’s CCIP has facilitated more than $12 trillion in transaction value to date. The integration also includes the Risk Management Network, a specialized framework designed to monitor and verify cross-chain operations, protecting against potential vulnerabilities that have historically led to significant losses in the DeFi space.
“We are pleased that Mode has chosen to natively integrate Chainlink CCIP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure,” said Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs.
Eid also highlighted CCIP’s highest security and its role in improving the developer and user experience on Mode’s Layer-2 network.
Despite the end of the incentivized airdrop campaign of its native token, Mode managed to retain a significant portion of the Total Value (TVL) in its ecosystem. At the time of writing, the network has more than $629 million in TVL, according to data aggregator L2Beat.
