InComm Payments, a global payment technology provider, and SKUx, a mobile wallet network, announced a strategic partnership focused on digital payment distribution for humanitarian aid and emerging markets. The companies plan to combine retail infrastructure with blockchain tools to improve the way funds are delivered and tracked.
The joint solution allows organizations to issue digital branded payments with item-level controls. Funds can be limited to specific goods and can be used at approved locations. The system is designed to ensure that aid or promotional budgets are spent on the intended purpose. The platform will operate through InComm’s retail network and SKUx’s blockchain-based distribution system, including SKUPay retail integrations with point-of-sale providers.
The partnership targets government agencies, nonprofit organizations and consumer packaged goods companies. Both companies are members of Payments As A Lifeline, a nonprofit organization focused on financial resilience in the United States.
