About Alessandro Fiori
Alessandro Fiori’s journey into the art world began during his childhood, despite his family’s hopes for a medical career. Fueled by his passion for visual storytelling, after completing high school he began a path in Industrial Design with a specialized focus on automotive aesthetics. Alessandro’s career blossomed when, after graduating, he landed a role as a designer at a prestigious Italian studio, while also taking on a role as a university lecturer.
Within a few years he joined Ferrari’s illustrious design team, contributing to the creation of iconic models such as the Purosangue and the highly anticipated Supercar, which would be launched in the near future. Today, Alessandro Fiori still plays a crucial role in the automotive sector, as team leader at Ferrari. His responsibilities include overseeing the entire car design process, from the initial research phase through industrialization to the official vehicle presentation.
How he got into Web3
While Alessandro’s artistic and design passions took a back seat to his burgeoning post-college career, a remarkable woman reignited the flames of his artistic spirit. On their first date, he sketched a heartfelt photo for her on a placemat, an act she cherished. Over the next three years, their dining experiences became an opportunity for Alessandro to create extraordinary works of art on handkerchiefs and scraps of paper.
Tragically, she passed away in 2018, causing Alessandro to stop drawing altogether. This year, in tribute to their anniversary and her love of New York City, he curated an exhibition of all the drawings he had lovingly gifted to her over the years. For Alessandro, Web3 represents the means to fulfill this sincere ambition.
Design process
Alessandro Fiori believes that every creative journey is unique. While car design can seem limiting due to its focus on utility and requirements, creativity can overcome these challenges through imaginative and intuitive thinking. In the field of creative design, untouched by the influence of engineers or marketers, it is Alessandro, armed with an iPad, a pen and an abundant source of passion.
He occasionally struggles with overthinking, pondering the possibility that those who have passed away are patiently waiting for our return. In ‘After All This Time’ his goal was to paint a picture of a girl who travels to an unknown world, where everything works in reverse.
The train she boards bears the wear and tear of the many passengers who have traveled before and are now empty after everyone has disembarked. She waits with a heavy heart and dwindling hope, eager for her loved one to step through the carriage doors, no matter how long it may take.
