Grass, a Depin artificial intelligence project, has announced the inclusion of Solana wallets as part of its ongoing rewards distribution process. Grass stated that this new addition will allow them to track the origin of each piece of scraped data and reward the node that provides this information based on its relative value.
AI Depin Project Grass will rely on Solana for reward distribution and data provenance tracking
Grass, an artificial intelligence (AI) Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (Depin) project that uses computers to collect data, has announced the inclusion of Solana in its data collection and reward distribution processes. Recently, the project announced that users will need to link a Solana wallet to their account.
This new guidance is related to Grass’s advancements in data tracking practices. According to a social media post, this new implementation will allow Grass to track the exact node that scraped the data and from which sites the data was scraped, allowing these records to be permanently etched into the chain.
Consequently, this will also ensure that developers trust the data collected as there will be a full provenance record of the information collected. This is intended to address the problem of poisoned data being fed into other applications, as AI projects have no way to guarantee that the training data collected is accurate, short of scraping the data itself.
Users will also benefit from having reliable data passed to agents, as there will be fewer opportunities to trust a biased AI agent due to data poisoning. However, the most obvious reason for this implementation is to prepare for an upcoming token distribution, decentralizing the reward processes so that users are compensated based on their contributions to the network.
Grass stated:
Once we have a wallet address associated with each node, we can send the value of AI back to the exact node that provided the data.
Other Depin projects also use Solana, such as Hivemapper, a global mapping network, and Render, a project that democratizes access to a GPU (graphics processing unit) cluster.
