In a post of his X account, Yakovenko explicitly described Memecoins and NFTs as “digital waste” without intrinsic value.
The celebrity compared Memecoins and NFTs to plunder boxes in free play mobile games.
Yakovenko argues that although Memecoins and NFTs are extremely popular and financially lucrative, they miss underlying purpose and value.
“I have been saying this for years. Memecoins and NFTs are digital waste and have no intrinsic value.
“It is like an outer box with mobile games. People spend $ 150 billion a year on mobile games.”
Although the celebrity mentions Memecoins Trash, he admits that they have contributed considerably to the growth of Solana.
According to Solana-oriented infrastructure agency Syndica, Memecoins achieved a record high in June, accounting for 62% of the decentralized application yields of the Solana network.
